A Western Contention for Asia-centred Communication Scholarship Paradigms: A Commentary on Gordon's Paper

While the domination of the Eurocentric paradigm in communication studies in the last half century is a problem, the blind acceptance of the universal applicability of the Eurocentric paradigm by educators and scholars in other areas, including Asia, reflects a more serious problem. It is a good sign that criticism of Westernization in communication education and research in Asia has grown stronger in recent years, and more scholars have attempted to propose a direction for the future of Asian communication studies . . .
