The EU offers opportunities to schools within the Comenius Programme to develop and implement specific studies in which pedagogical, lingual and science-oriented objectives can be internationally combined if schools from at least three European countries are ready to share in a common project. Geography seems to be especially suited for such cross-national projects. One such project was developed among schools in France, Italy, Slovenia and Germany to demonstrate the importance of viticulture across these countries. This paper reports on the project from an overall perspective and from the specific contribution made by studying it in Germany. Of particular interest was the learning of new content from a scientific perspective and the possible impact that these studies had on students and teachers who were involved.
