A Case of Language Revitalisation in 'Settled' Australia
Michael Walsh

It has been claimed that most of the Indigenous languages in 'settled' Australia are extinct. This claim has not met universal approval, particularly among Indigenous people. This paper presents a case
of language revitalisation in 'settled' Australia, considers the nature of the language ecology in Indigenous Australia, and advances some of the reasons for the success of this case of language revitalisation.
